Trust me, I hate credit cards just as much as the next person because they have caused me a lot of grief in my life over the years since I was old enough to have one.

In fact, as I have mentioned many times on this blog, we were at one point over $75,000 in credit card debt. Looking back, I can’t even believe we were able to get out of that amount of debt. With perseverance and a lot of hard work, we did it and couldn’t be happier that being in debt is behind us.

So with that being said, I am not recommending this practice if you are already deep in debt. You should cut off all use of credit cards and focus on getting out of debt first and foremost.

AirBNB has become the staple for homes away from home and for cheap too!   I’m sure just like Uber was to Taxi Cab companies, AirBNB has hotel chains shaking in their boots.

If you don’t know what AirBNB is well let me enrich you on the idea.   AirBNB is a online web site where you can get connected with people who are offering their place up for you to spend the night or more in exchange for a fee.

“Experiences are far more valuable than money ever will be.”

I have always known that experiences are by far more valuable than money ever will be.   I guess I always figured that it takes money to get those experiences, but I have learned that this is not necessarily true.      I’m here to tell you that you can travel on the cheap or maybe even free if you play your cards right.   If you are interested in going to these places on the cheap, then check out my bonus post 10 Ways to Travel on the Cheap or Free Worldwide where I explain it.

I wanted to cover 20 places that you should travel in your 20’s.    Go places before you settle down, get married and then start a family.   Trust me on this one!   Take the time in your 20’s to do this, even if it means backpacking and camping in tents as you make your way across Europe, Tahiti, Thailand, Brazil and more.   You will thank me later when you have a life filled with experiences.  It might not cost as much as you think if you are frugal about your approach.

The other aspect of travel is that it expands your horizons beyond the bubble of your home land be it the United States or elsewhere.   When you are raised you are brought up with certain beliefs which are important, but seeing how other people live life abroad will open your horizons more than any book will be able to teach you.   When you see how people live in the depths of India or Mexico or Thailand, these experiences will forever change you.

Unfortunately, until you take that first step to see and experience these new places, you will not understand what I am telling.

So take my word for it, go out when your young, when you have the time and explore the world…

Traveling is one of life’s most rewarding experiences to me.   I think it all started when I was younger and my parents would set off across the country on a regular basis in their Airstream camper, as part of the Wally Byam club with a caravan of trailers and like minded people in tow.

The open road, the unknown adventure, meeting new people along the way, seeing new and experiencing what this great world has to offer.

Needless to say, I developed a travel bug from the early days of my life that continues on even more as an adult.   I Love to Travel!   It’s pretty obvious that we have a love for travel based on the emphasis we put on it in our budget.  It’s important to us, so it receives a fair share of attention when we are “bucketing” our money, as we call it.
