How we paid $0 for our hotel at Disney using Credit Card Rewards

So we decided to take another 10 Day trip to Disney in August and we did it without paying a penny for our hotel.   Here is how we did it.

We have long been fans of staying at Marriott’s when we had to stay at a hotel.   Because of this, we felt that signing up for a Marriott credit card was somewhat of a no brainer.   To our surprise, you actually earn 80,000 points if you sign up and spend $3,000 within the 1st 3 months.   Then, on top of that, if you add one authorized card user and that person uses the card within the first 3 months, you get an extra 7,500 points.   So right out the door, we had 87,500 points.

Now once your a member of Marriott with their credit card they sometimes run deals where you can get free hotel stays if you stay during a period of time.   We received 2 free nights going with those offers, plus we get a free night every year for just being a cardholder.   After then spending money on the card paying for things that we normally would have bought anyways, we ended up scoring a total of 136,000 points, which was just enough along with our free nights to stay 10 nights for free at Walt Disney World this past August.
